1. Is Smart Art a trading company or a manufactory ?

We are the manufactory and exporter.

 We produce all resin items in our own factory. For other materials such as Ceramic, Wood, Fabric, Metal and plastic, we work together with sub-contracted factories. But we do all designs by ourselves and give them to sub-contract factories to make.

 We also do lots of assembling in our own factory, so that we could control the quality and delivery time.


 

 

2. What kind of product is Smart Art doing ?

We do all kinds of decorations and gifts for all seasons, such as X’mas, Halloween, Easter, Valentine, Mother’s day, Thanksgiving and etc. , as well as we do lots of Home Deco and garden items. But we do lots of customers' projects too. 30% to 40% of our turnover is from customers' designs.


 

 

3. Factory information, such as size, workers:

We have our own factory complex. The land is 30,000 square meters (300,000 square feet) with construction area also about 30,000 square meters.

 We have 60-70 employees in office, 80 workers in R&D departments (30 sculptors and 50 sample workers). In the factory, in peak season we have 400 workers and in low season we have about 300 workers.


 

 

4. What are the main market and the main customers of Smart Art ?

Our main markets are North America and West Europe.

American accounts for about 60%, Western Europe accounts for about 40%.

 We have two types of customers. One is the chain stores, the other one is the importers.

In America, our main chain store customers are like Kohl’s, Target, JCPenny, Hobby Lobby, and Big Lots. Importers are like Midwest-CBK and Demdaco.

In Europe, Metro group is our largest chain store customer. Kaemingk from Holland is our largest importer customer.


 

 

5. How about the designs ?

We have our own designing department in the factory, who do both artworks for our own development and the customer’s designs!

 We have 4 in house Chinese designers.

 We work together with one European trend-forecasting design company. They provide us with latest trends, patterns, colors, materials and finishes. We go abroad regularly to visit shows and stores to collect the latest information from the market.

 We also do a lot of customer’s designs too ! Most of the time, customers do not have to send us their final artworks. As long as they give us an idea or a simple sketch, our designers can work from there and send artworks for approval in 2-3 days. Samples can be finished in 10-15days after artwork is approved.

 We keep all customers’ designs confidential and exclusive. All the customers’ samples are kept in confidential places. We will never sell to other customers.



  

6. How about the developing fees or sampling fees?

In order to maintain our sample development run in a good financial condition, we have to charge customers on their selected samples, sample fees are twice of the FOB price quoted. Courier charge or the air freight cost to send the samples to customers is paid by the customers.

For the new development of samples of customers' ideas, or per request of customers' to revise our existing samples, all the costs of sculpting, molding and sampling are for account of customers, which our sales person will inform you accordingly. Upon receipt of the estimated development costs, we will start sampling immediately. But these development costs can be deducted from the orders later on.

-----Our prices are the most competitive ! We do all the resin in our own factory at the possible lowest cost. For other materials, we work with sub-contract factories and because we bring lots of customer orders to the sub-contract factories, so we have the buying power with them and we can always get the best prices.


 

 

8. How about the QC ?

For the goods produced in our own factory, we have both QA and QC departments. On every single production line we have at least 2 QC inspectors to check the products piece by piece.

The goods produced in sub-contract factories, we have our QC offices in the factory production areas. There are total 6 Inspectors to check every factory and every order from the very beginning till the end. And the sales have to do the final check after the goods is finished and trucked to our warehouse in Xiamen before it is loaded onto the boat.



  

9. How about the test of products?

Right now, we do lots of different kinds of product tests for different customers. Our products can pass the test of limit of lead. For the kitchen products or dinnerwares, they can pass FDA test.


 

 

10. What kind of factory audit has Smart Art passed ?

Our factory is nicely set up and managed. So it is not difficult for us to pass the factory audit. For USA chain stores, we have passed some audits such as for Target, JC penny, Lowe’s and Kohl’s.


 

 

11. How about your Production Capacity?

On average, our own factory can produce 600.000-1,000,000 pcs or 30-40 containers per month.


 

 

12. How about the order terms?

1) MOQ for initial order is USD$5000. MOQ for Reorder is USD$3000. USD$300-USD500 handling charge to be on customer's account if order amount between USD3000-USD5000.

 For each style, normally is $1,000 or 600pcs according to the size of each product. Factory might need 10%-25% mold charge if the quantity less the MOQ.

 2) Lead time for initial order is 60-90 days. Lead time for reorder is about 60 days.

3) Payment terms: 50% deposit need be paid before mass production and balance to be paid before the booking of vessel.
